Our mango wood incense holder

These mango wood incense holders come from India. The mango tree, offers us not only the extremely delicious fruit. In addition, mango wood is becoming increasingly popular. Especially for solid wood furniture it finds more and more followers. On the one hand, this is due to its excellent density, and on the other hand, its durable properties. Moreover, the wood is considered to be extremely stable and strong, although it tends to be one of the "light" woods. If the wood remains untreated, it appears in a light brown tone. However, it is often treated and varnished.

In fact, there are over 2`500 different species of mango trees. The leaves of the mango tree grow up to 30 cm long. Apart from that, it reaches up to 25 meters in height and up to 1 meter in diameter. There are many mango plantations where mangoes are planted in rows. For the mango harvest, which can only take place on 3 months of the year. Between December and March the tree shows red-yellow flowers. Finally, the fruits end up with us in the supermarket.

However, after about 7-15 years, the mango tree no longer bears fruit. Therefore, it is usually cut down and its wood is taken for the extraction of furniture. Or just for the production of our mango wood incense holders. Through this processing, mango wood proves to be a sustainable wood. Because the plantation operators of course systematically plant new trees again and again to be able to ensure your harvest.

Since wood is a natural material, there may be slight differences in shape, color, texture. We therefore ask for your understanding.

Occurrence of the mango tree:

By the way, the mango tree originated in India. Today, however, it is found in many warmer countries. For example, in the U.S. or Mexico and South and Central America are other growing areas. But the mango tree can also be found in the Caribbean, Kenya or Australia. And of course in the Asian region such as Thailand and the Philippines mangos are harvested.
